COLLEGE: Massachusetts Smith College in 1925
DIED: June 16, 1926
REASON: Beaten, Strangled alegidly by father
LOCATION: Seattle, Greenlake (Gaines Point)
FATHER: Wallace Cloyes Gaines (Nickname - Bob? - hanged August 31, 1928 in Walla Walla, Wa.)
HOW FOUND: In the early morning of June 17, 1926, a carpenter was walking around the north end of Seattle's Green Lake to go to work. In an alder grove on a point of land he discovered a pair of women's shoes next to the lake. He walked a few feet farther and found the woman -- dead and nearly naked -- sprawled near the shore. The body belonged to 22-year-old Sylvia Gaines (1904-1926).

We will be going on our hunt for the Sylvia Gaines ghost this summer. Now that the weather has began to improve, we will be going any day now. We will probably be doing a multiple of investigations and will report back with the our findings as they arrive.
